Clerk(s) to Local Academy Committees (LAC)
The University of Winchester Academy Trust has an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and well organised Clerks to our three Local Academy Committees. This role can either be completed by one person or be split between Committees. The successful applicant(s) will need to have a flexible approach to time and will be required to work 50 hours per year which covers;
- Clerking 5 meetings a year per Committee
- Proactive support with agenda setting, including the production of a draft agenda for each meeting
- emailing and online posting (via Governor Hub) of supporting documentation
- attendance at meetings to take minutes and provide advice and guidance on governance issues as required
- Preparation, amendments and issuing of minutes within 10 days of the meeting
- General administrative support to the LACs including timetabling of work, monitoring of policy reviews, assisting with governor recruitment, maintaining accurate records of membership, declarations of interest and training records and dealing with correspondence and filing
- Liaising with the Trust Board Governance Professional, senior leaders and central Trust team.
Proven clerking experience in the academy sector will be a distinct advantage along with good organisational and IT skills (a laptop will be provided) and the ability to take concise, accurate minutes. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate good communication skills and be willing to engage with ongoing support and any training as necessary for legal compliance or personal development.
